2017 ACFCGN Gathering and AGM — CERES

Only two weeks to go — 7-8 October 2017

The Australian City Farms & Community Gardens Network (ACFCGN) organises an annual gathering of city farmers and community gardeners to share our stories, network and renew friendships. This year we will be all travelling to Melbourne and are looking forward to catching up with farmers and gardeners from around Australia

  • CERES on Saturday 7 October and
  • garden tours in Geelong on Sunday 8 October 2017.

WHAT’S HAPPENING?

Friday night with ACFCGN ambassador — Costa Geordiadis


ACFCGN Tamil Feast  — $35
We are so excited that our ACFCGN ambassador and host of Gardening Australia, Costa Georgiadis will be joining us at the feast.

Day One — Saturday 7 October — CERES

Refreshments during the day — delicious simple vegetarian lunch and morning tea.
Workshops on chickens, bees, compost. Community Garden sessions on good governance, funding, volunteers and working with council. CERES site tours.
Meet other gardens and join in on the ACFCGN AGM to help us promote and advocate for city farming and community gardening around Australia.
PROGRAM
9:30am – registration and cuppa
10:00am — What is ACFCGN — benefits and history
10:20am — Garden introductions from those present
10:35am — Open space workshop planning
People put forward their workshop ideas and topics they would like to explore for the day.
11:00am — ACFCGN AGM

11:45am — WORKSHOP SESSION 1:
Option 1: Bees in the community garden with Amelie Banderstock
Option 2: Chooks in the Community Garden with Meg from CERES
Option 3: Governance style session to be decided on in the morning.

Day Two — Sunday 8 October

Tour of community gardens around Geelong:

  • 10:00 Meet at South Geelong Station.
  • 10:15 Drive to Barwon Heads CG (BHCG) & have morning tea & tour
  • 11:30 Drive to Breamlea CG for tour
  • 12:45 Drive to Grovedale CG.for BBQ lunch & tour
  • 1:45 Drive to Grinter CG
  • 2:45 Drive to South Geelong Station

BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL AND CLOSE 5PM THURSDAY 5 OCT

Bookings are essential and will be closed at 5pm Monday 2 October to help with organising catering.

No tickets will be on sale on the day of the event.
