A supportive Kingborough Council supplied the land in 2007.

The planning and much of the work of establishment of the garden was done by local organic gardening guru, David Stephen.

The garden consists of 50 family or group plots of about 4 square metres each. These include the Possums Playgroup and Home Educators. There are also 4 communal beds with a rotational system, and other ‘community’ areas including fruit trees, worm farms, and composting bays around the perimeter fence.

There is a herb garden on the garden frontage. We aim to be an organic garden. We have regular working bees and events.

Taroona does not have a shopping centre so the garden is a social focus for the community.

Always open.
