The Southern River Community Garden is an exciting shared space that is taking shape at the rear of Southern River College on Anaconda Drive. The garden is a partnership between Southern River College, the community and the City of Gosnells.
The garden is located at the rear of Southern River College, Anaconda Drive Gosnells. To-date, revitalisation of this 4,300sqm site has included the creation of access pathways, large communal garden beds planted with veggies and fruit trees, installation of an automated irrigation system, establishment of a worm farm and composting area and construction of a gazebo.
A committee of community volunteers (Southern River Community Garden Inc.) manage a range of activities at the garden and welcome new members. Activities at the garden include monthly busy bees, workshops, social events and student projects. Plots are available for rent so community members can plant and harvest their own produce.
