The community organised and operated garden is situated next to St Marks Anglican Church, Cullen Street Nimbin. The garden is an example of, a seed savers network, orchard, herb, vegetable and flower growing using permacultural design techniques, aboriginal bush food and a restored area of Australian plants for wildlife.

Waste created at the garden is recycled using a compost bin and a couple of worm farms donated by the Lismore City Council in 2002. Cardboard, paper, plants refuse and food wastes are returned back to the soil as compost. What you don’t eat feeds the plants and soil completing the food cycle.

Working in association with Nimbin Aquarius Landcare Group (NALG) formed in March 2002 to assist the development of environmentally sustainable enterprises based on the natural productivity of village land. The community garden demonstrates best practice in water conservation, waste recycling and organic horticulture.

The garden now has a regular stall, selling freshly picked organic produce, at the Nimbin Markets held every 3 rd and 5 th weekend of the month.

Meetings are open to all and are held regularly each Friday morning for working bees and on the 4 th Friday of every month 4.00pm , at Landcare Hall behind St Marks Church.
