Background:
The Life with Gusto Project, supported by the Australian Government Department of Health & Ageing began to set up the Milang Community Garden in February 2009.

This project, facilitated through the Milang Old School House Community Centre, developed the garden (and also one at Clayton Bay) as a major part of its promotion of nutritious eating and physical activity. The garden was designed with the participation of local people and school students.

The garden is on grounds owned by the Eastern Fleurieu School. The orchard was planted prior to the Life with Gusto Project and has been incorporated into the garden.

The garden is managed by the Milang Old School House Community Centre in consultation with Eastern Fleurieu School, Milang Campus.
