A bare residential block has been made available by the Shire of Goomalling to volunteers to create a new community garden for fun and friendship. Our vision is to gradually create an orchard, nature play space, vege and herb gardens, a succulent garden, a Noongar bush food and medicine garden, places for people to relax together, and much more. We aim to ‘make do’ and reuse materials where possible and maximise chances for volunteers to assist the garden through one-off or ongoing volunteering. We learn about the skills and knowledge and time our volunteers have, and let volunteers contribute in a way and amount and time that they enjoy.
