The community garden is located at the northern end of Padulesi Park, Antares Way, Athelstone. The garden includes communal garden beds, fruit trees, herb hedges, raised garden beds (available for lease by individuals or groups), composting bays, a small storage shed and eventually a sheltered meeting area.
The garden is open to all members of the community to either lease their own garden plot or to be involved in garden activities and working bees. Community Garden members and others are responsible for the care and maintenance of communal areas. Members and plot holders are expected to participate in working bees and undertake tasks rostered by the management committee.
Annual membership is $25 or $20 for concession card holders for 1 square metre bed. Extra metres can be purchased for an additional $15 per year and depends on availability.
Garden mornings are the first and third Saturdays of the month at 9:30am and are open to the community.
