The Trott Park Community Garden was established in 2014, behind the Trott Park Neighbourhood Centre. Originally we built 16 raised garden beds and recently several more were constructed making a total of 25 beds plus we’ve erected general sheds and a potting area.
Community Garden membership is open to all and you don’t need to live in the Trott Park suburb to become a member. Members also don’t need to take out a membership involving an individual raised garden bed responsibility, nor do they need to have gardening experience. We have several community plots that everyone can look after and harvest from in addition to an orchard of fruit trees and a community herb garden. So even if you don’t opt to have a dedicated raised garden of your own there will be plenty for you to do.
The garden is open on Saturday mornings for everyone to attend and we pop the kettle on at about 10:30am ish and have a cuppa. Prospective members are encouraged to pop in of a Saturday morning for a look around and chat to learn more and work out if this is a membership that suits them. You’ll find us at 34 Hessing Crescent, Trott Park behind the Trott Park Neighbourhood Centre. There is plenty of parking in front of the Neighbourhood Centre.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions we are adhering to social distancing, have a hand sanitisation station.
