• We were formed ten years ago when a group of people decided to ask the City of Canning for permission to build a community garden on the piece of vacant land that we now use.
  History of the garden
• WA weather: short winters and long hot summers that are becoming increasingly humid. WA infertile sand that has no nutrients and quickly becomes hydrophobic. Lack of younger aged members; nearly all of our members are retired.
  Problems/challenges

We are a group of gardeners and garden lovers who work together to

• share with other members in planting and harvesting from the Garden’s vegetable beds, fruit trees and herb gardens
• establish a garden bed to grow our own vegetables
• learn more about home gardens and gardening
• participate in Garden social events
• be part of a community

We are an enthusiastic group of people working to create a vibrant space.
