Warrnambool Community Garden Inc. formed in 2006 in response to a desire to create a space where people could meet and enjoy the many benefits of gardening.
Based on principles of organic gardening and permaculture, it has grown to its current membership of more than 80 with 52 plots and an impressive diversity of people and organisations utilising the space for an equally wide range of reasons.
These include growing to produce, seeking networks, providing a nurturing space for people with a physical, mental, or social/vocational disadvantage, and a place to learn about sustainability.
