The Walan Wirringah Women’s community garden group. Walan Wirringah – which translates as ‘strong women’ in Wiradjuri – is a group where women could meet once a week in a safe and supportive environment.
The group of community-minded green thumbed women started the Walan Community Garden which sits on the flat near the Macquarie River. Volunteers meet each week sharing stories, recipes, gardening tips and the amazing vegetables they grow.
The Walan group is supported by Orana Support Service.
