History of the garden

HPCG Inc has been an independently member-run and incorporated not-for-profit community garden since around February 2022, with support from the Lane Cove Council.

Originally established in the new Hughes Park complex as the Food Faith / Planting Seeds Garden with the support of Mirvac in 2016.

Successes/opportunities

As the only community garden in the LGA, HPCG was invited to provide input into the Lane Cove Council’s Community Garden Guide in early 2022, it’s hard to believe it’s been over a year since its publication:

HPCG won a NSW Department of Planning and Environment ‘PlacesToRoam’ grant in late 2022 which has allowed us a much-needed and significant renovation. We’re hoping to open back up in spring 2023, so watch this space!
