Cross Apex Park to the Rail Trail or park outside the garden using the dirt road leading east from the Big W carpark, near the Rail Trail.
The garden was founded, along with the Men’s Shed, on a patch of grass near the Rail Trail in central Wonthaggi in 2007, when permission was granted for use of the land by the Bass Coast Shire Council. The garden grew from a simple row of raised beds to a productive orchard, a shelter belt, compost bays, worm farms, raised beds, a wicking bed, and shared communal areas.
Members meet weekly and monthly for the Produce Swap. Many workshops and events have been held over the years, and there will be many more to come!
