Share, give, and belong
At Duncraig Edible Garden (DEG) we love sharing and giving. It’s about community and belonging. We are one of a growing number of community gardens in Perth. We meet every second Saturday next to the Duncraig Public Library.
‘Share the Harvest’ happens every time we meet. Please come and share anything you can give, from garden knowledge and wisdom, to seeds, seedlings, cuttings or produce. It can be anything homegrown or homemade. Not a problem if you can’t bring anything, just come down and enjoy mingling with our friendly community. Enjoy taking something home from the bounty our community offers.
Permaculture
We follow permaculture design principles in the gardening we do. This means we largely grow organically with the maximum recycling and a minimum of wastage. We promote sustainable living. If you are not sure what permaculture means, don’t worry, you can learn about this from others in the garden.
What to bring
Bring a cup for your morning tea or coffee, and something for our ‘Share the Harvest table’ if you can. Also, bring some gardening tools and some appropriate weather protection. If we are having a workshop, bring a chair or a cushion to sit on as well.
DEG people meet every fortnight on alternate Saturday mornings between 9am and 12 noon (on opposite weeks to the Poynter Farmers Market).
