Bethania Street Community Garden in Cox Park, Lota is approximately 1200sq metres and commenced in September 2011. This garden operates under a licence from the Brisbane City Council and is open daily between dawn and dusk. It is located 5 minutes from Lota railway station.
Bethania Street Community Garden has been established by volunteer community gardeners, donations and with grant funds from the Brisbane City Council and State and Commonwealth governments.
WMCGG is growing a strong membership base of local residents. We now have over 100 members interested in organic gardening and new members are always welcome. We love to see new ‘diggers’ in the garden to keep it growing – working bees are each Wednesday morning. The WMCGG host Under 5s Gardening monthly and many special events throughout the year.
