Duck Flat Community Garden is located behind Mt Barker Hospital and is coordinated by Mount Barker Community Centre.
Duck Flat Community Garden, located behind Mount Barker Hospital is a beautiful space for physical and passive activities and provides a venue for the teaching, demonstrating, and growing of produce utilising cooperative and healthy organic principles.
It boasts abundant garden beds, seats, wheel accessible pathways, a hot-shade house, a pizza oven and meeting place, dragon seats, a native shelterbelt, fruit trees, a comprehensive composting system, activity shed, various artworks, a children’s garden and a recently renovated “playboat”.
It offers a space in both reality and the imaginations, where the community can be digging a hole, contemplating a loss, or dreaming in the shade.
The garden welcomes everyone to a centre for health and wellbeing. Volunteer roles are varied and no experience is required.
Gardening hours: Mondays and Wednesdays 9.00am – 1.30pm.
New volunteers are always welcome.
