Congratulations to Our New Executive Officer!

Community Gardens Australia (CGA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Naomi Lacey as our new Executive Officer, marking an exciting new chapter for the organisation as we continue to grow our national reach, partnerships and programs.

Naomi is no stranger to CGA, having served on the board for ten years and as Board Chair for six of those years. She has played a significant role in strengthening the organisation’s governance, financial sustainability and national profile. A Churchill Fellow with a passion for community gardening, Naomi brings extensive experience in leadership, strategic planning, project management and building partnerships across government, community and not-for-profit sectors.

During her time with CGA, Naomi has been instrumental in rebranding the organisation, expanding our education and training opportunities and national events program, developing relationships with local and state governments, securing new projects and funding, and supporting our growing network of volunteers and State Coordinators. Her commitment to creating a stronger, more sustainable organisation has helped position CGA to deliver even greater benefits to community gardens across Australia. She is an inaugural board member of The Urban Garden Project, an organisation to unite, amplify and uplift the global community garden movement and is passionate about collaborating with others to achieve great outcomes for community gardens, wherever they may be.

In her new volunteer/contractor role, Naomi will continue to focus on implementing CGA’s strategic priorities, developing new funding and partnership opportunities, supporting our volunteers and contractors, and ensuring the organisation continues to be a strong national voice for community gardening.

Please join us in congratulating Naomi on her appointment! We look forward to this next chapter as CGA continues to grow, connect and support thriving community gardens and stronger communities across Australia.
