Lake Monger Community Garden

Community garden

Basic Information

Our aim is to create a garden where people in our community can come together to grow organic produce, socialize with one another, and enjoy the benefits of working in the fresh air.

Formerly Herdsman Community Garden.

We started planning for our community garden in 2013, and hoped to have the garden near Herdsman Parade to cater for the hundreds that live in medium-density dwellings. Unfortunately our first choice of land was denied by Stirling Council and we had to look elsewhere.

We obtained a lease agreement from the Town of Cambridge to establish a community garden at the north end of Lake Monger, between the Dodd St car park and Powis St.

Our aim to create a place to grow food, but also celebrate community, beautify the area and inspire all those who pass by.

Location: Dodd St Wembley — parking off Powis St — WA 6016
