2026 Community Growing Conferences

In 2026, CGA’s State Conferences — formerly known as our much-loved Community Garden Gatherings — are stepping into an exciting new chapter.

This year, we are thrilled to be delivering the conferences in partnership with Grow It Local and Permaculture Australia, bringing together three passionate forces in community food growing. The result? A bigger, richer, more inspiring experience for everyone who cares about gardens, food, sustainability and community connection.

Across each state, the 2026 conferences will feature an incredible line-up of speakers — from grassroots community leaders to nationally recognised voices in regenerative growing and local food systems. Expect thought-provoking keynote presentations, practical skill-building workshops, and honest conversations about what it really takes to grow thriving, resilient community gardens. There will be special guest appearances, creative demonstrations, and sessions designed to energise both emerging and experienced garden leaders alike.

Beyond the formal program, these conferences are about connection. They are about meeting the people who compost like you compost, who wrestle with governance questions like you do, who celebrate the first tomato of the season with the same joy. You’ll find generous networking opportunities, space for collaboration, and the chance to build partnerships that continue long after the day ends.

Whether you’re a volunteer, coordinator, committee member, grower, educator or simply garden-curious, the 2026 CGA State Conferences promise inspiration, practical tools, and renewed motivation to take back to your patch.

Come ready to learn.
Come ready to connect.
Come ready to grow 🌱
