Begun in 2023 on an unloved block of land on Railway Street, Nemingha Community Garden is now a thriving vegetable garden framed by gorgeous gum trees. This productive plot has produced an abundance of food for its neighbourhood, including lettuce, spinach, beans and even native foods like finger limes and midyim berry.

Local children have been involved in many projects in this space, such as making an insect hotel and gathering honey from their bee hives. Native animals are also enjoying this space, with multiple lizard species, wrens, and butterflies regularly sighted.
