We are having a community open day for all the family at our long established community garden which is 43 years old with about 90 plots. We have raised herb beds & one with some bush food plants, & also have recently established a wildlife garden near our productive beehive.
On the day we will be having talks on keeping bees at 10.30am & at 1pm and ones on wicking beds at 11am & 12.30pm. There will be a home grown produce & seed swap table and vegetable seedlings, herbs & flowering plants to take home and grow. We will also be having a gardens for wildlife display & activity for the kids.
Come along to tour our garden & talk to our members about what they are growing in their plots this spring.
The garden is close to the Mentone Railway station & local bus stop and cafes. We have flat paths accessible for those with a disability.
