Come and experience a fabulous day at Poowong Hall in Gippsland with your fellow Victorian community gardeners!

Only 1.5 hours from Melbourne city, this is a day to come together, learn, meet like-minded souls and celebrate our love of community gardens.

We will have speakers, workshops, lots of fun, special guests for you to meet, and a community lunch.

  • James McLennan — about the fabulous Farm My School project in Geelong,
  • Chelsea McNab — about the lessons they have learned at Yarra Valley Ecoss in the Yarra Valley about activating your community effectively
  • session on how to promote your garden more effectively
  • short series of mini workshops in the afternoon.  

Morning tea and lunch are included in the ticket.

Post-event

Post-event drinks will be held across the road at the Poowong Hotel, and if you would like to join us for dinner there in the evening, please email info@communitygarden.org.au as we need to confirm numbers.

Please bring:

  • your water bottle
  • keep cup
  • bag for some goodies
  • for our swap table, bring some of your garden delights to share
  • we will spend some time outdoors, so dress appropriately for the weather on the day.

  • 2:00 pm: Mini Workshops and Garden Tour
  • From 3:00 pm: Wind up remarks, drinks, networking and dinner at the Poowong Hotel

About speakers

James McLennan

Topic: Farm My School & Regenerative Agriculture.

About James: James is CEO and Director at Farm My School. He possesses a fervent dedication to environmental conservation, regeneration and sustainability. His experience has been extensive within the education sector, where he has designed and implemented many sustainability education programs for schools.

Chelsea McNab

Topic: Inspiration for broadening the scope of community gardens. Absorbing the many potentials of sustainable action and how Yarra Valley ECOSS is doing it

About Chelsea: Chelsea manages the day-to-day running of ECOSS, assists all the Staff and reports to the ECOSS Committee of Management. She has vast experience in environmental campaigning, sustainable food systems, community connectedness projects and not-for-profit organisations.
