2020 August QLD news
Hi everyone,
Here’s my August 2020 report for Queensland:
GRANTS AND REBATES
- Brisbane City Council’s “Cultivating Community Gardens Grants” for 2020 opens on 31 August. This grant offers funds from $1,000 to $2,500.
- BCC has also set up a Compost Rebate Program. The program provides eligible Brisbane residents a rebate of up to $70 off the purchase of eligible composting equipment.
- Round 106 of the Queensland Government’s “Gaming Community Benefit Fund” closes on 31 August. This grant offers funds up to $35,000.
Please contact me if you have any details about grants, rebates, etc available in your region.
PROJECTS
- I met with Kylie Newberry from Our Food System to talk about the ‘Brisbane Food City’ project which is a semi-finalist in the US$200,000 Rockefeller Foundation Food System Vision Prize. This is an exciting and ambitious Brisbane-based project to “create a network of edible and interactive public spaces that build a local food system, drive climate initiatives and foster community.”
