Built on a disused bowling green in the Kogarah local government area, the community garden was opened in 2009. The garden was initiated by Kogarah City Council who commissioned a community consultation process to bring together a core group of gardeners and to produce community garden policy directions for Council.
The garden features both shared and allotment areas, water harvesting and storage in tanks for garden irrigation and a strawbale meeting room that is available for community use.
