Ashmore Community Garden

Description: The Ashmore Community Gardens has more than 40 members and is growing weekly. The group proposes both communal and allotment gardens. The gardens are supported by ABC Child Care, Ashmore Garden World and sponsored by Bendigo Bank and Harvey Norman.

Ashmore Community Gardens has public meetings at 6pm on the first Thursday of every month at the Ashmore PCYC and a working bee or social event on the last Saturday of every month. All are welcome to attend these free events.

Broadbeach Community Garden Group

Description: Whilst developing plans for a large garden on Council grounds, the Broadbeach Community Garden Group have built a communal garden comprising eight large beds at the northern end of Broadbeach.  Locals are encouraged to come along to this wonderful temporary gardening space.

Coombabah Community Garden

Description: A new community garden is planned for Coombabah. The purpose of the garden is to create a place where people of all ages and background can come together to grow their own fruit, vegetables and herbs.

Joan Park Community Garden

Location: The Joan Park Community Garden is located in Joan Street in Southport. It is the garden for Division 7.

Description: This garden was established in 1998. The garden includes individual garden plots as well as communal gardens to support local groups including mental health groups, FSGA and an adjacent retirement home.  Membership is open to all residents of the Gold Coast City area. There are currently 30 members.

Loders Creek Community Garden

Location: Owen Park in the Loders Creek Catchment, at Ewan Street or south of Beale Street, Southport.

Description: The gardens are supported by Loders Creek Catchment Association, Correctional Services, Southport Primary School, Boy Scouts – Helensvale, National Bank, Energex, Girl Guides, Sports and Recreation Network and Mental Disability Group.

Nerang Community Garden

Description: The Nerang Community Garden Group comprises more than 50 members who are in the process of developing a community garden near the heart of Nerang.

They meet monthly to discuss the progress of their garden and are supported by Richmond Birdwing Conservation Network, riverkeepers, local schools and sponsored by Bunnings.

Peachey Community Garden

Description: This garden was established in August 2008.

Varsity Vegies Community Garden

Location: Adjacent to the Community Resource Centre, Jim Harris Park, Mattocks Road Varsity Lakes Qld 4227.

Description: Officially open in July 2009, it has 40 garden beds. Raised beds for people in wheelchairs.
