Good morning friends
Just a quick email to thank you for your ongoing support and to tell you of a recent success.
On Saturday Cringila PS won the Dig Ya Dinner competition at the Organic Expo and Green show held at Darling Harbour.
This was a competiton open to all schools in NSW, public and private, where schools had to bring their produce to the expo and display it in a wheelbarrow.
The quality of our vegetables was simply amazing and many people in the general public could not believe their eyes.
The competition was judged by Costa from Costa’s Garden Odyssey on SBS and we beat schools such as Vaucluse, Barker College, Menai Agricultural High school and Oyster Bay just to name a few.
We won prizes that can be used in our garden and a lot of media attention for the school as well as the broader permaculture partners.
It was a really magic day and great recognition of the work done by students, staff, parents and community at this school
We are so proud.
regards
David Lamb, Principal Cringila PS

Congratulations to the school for its win against such formidable opponents.
I understand there is a community garden for adults too, but have never seen it. Some of the Berkeley Garden Lovers Group visit there.
I am hanging up my trowel after a lifetime of garening and I know I will miss my garden. They are so inspirational; I love the presence of the birds – and as for bees, the owner of the beehives from whence they come to feed off my lavender hedge owes me a jar of honey.
